Kobo's main benefit is that it supports many different computing and smartphone platforms, so you can have all of your content available with you wherever you go. Kobo Reader for iPad is something of a dark horse when compared to the three major paid content eReader apps, but it's extremely polished and very well-designed. However, content can be easily purchased and remotely synchronized to the application by visiting the Barnes & Noble NOOK store in either the iPad's Safari browser or on any web-enabled device such as your PC.
